Ilyes Housni has finally scored his first Ligue 2 goal for Rodez. The striker opened the scoring in the 4th minute of Friday's 3-4 defeat at home to AS Nancy Lorraine.
The goal was long overdue. The former PSG youth prospect had netted seven times in pre-season friendlies but had drawn a blank in his first six league appearances. "Ilyes Housni has finally opened his L2 account and it is so deserved," was the verdict. His early strike, however, wasn't enough to prevent a third consecutive loss for RAF, who conceded four goals for the second time this campaign.
Rodez now sit 14th in the table with seven points from seven games. The defence, having let in sixteen goals, remains a concern. The schedule gets no easier with a trip to leaders Saint-Étienne up next on October 10th. To prepare for that test, the team can check its fixtures and season stats.
